Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed a knack for athletics early on discovering her ability to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed in second place in the 200-meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for an official career at Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by running 200m in 22.18 secs. In the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix was the youngest world champion in the distance of 200 meters. She won the title in 2007. won the title in front of her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in her first Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo regularly placing in the top three in all her competitions.
